Emanuel Porta caps Belgrano’s unbeaten season with final penalty
Club Atlético Belgrano entered the final match of the Argentine tournament already crowned champions, aiming to finish the season without a single defeat. After more than three decades with the club, captain Emanuel Porta received a silver plaque recognizing over 500 appearances before the game began.
In the match against Arsenal de Sarandí, Belgrano earned a penalty early in the second half. Porta stepped up, calmly converted the spot‑kick and secured the only goal, sealing an unbeaten campaign and marking his retirement with a decisive strike.
The victory sparked a standing ovation from fans, and Porta was honoured further with a commemorative armband, concluding a storied career at the club.
