Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia discusses monarchist political interest

Prince Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia has addressed the growing interest from monarchists regarding his potential involvement in politics. During commemorations marking the 130th anniversary of the marriage of Vittorio Emanuele III and Elena of Montenegro, the Prince noted that while there is no specific political party for monarchists, he receives increasing requests to engage in political life.

He expressed a desire for a more peaceful re-reading of history eighty years after the establishment of the Italian Republic. Additionally, the Prince discussed the symbolic transition of the House of Savoy, having previously expressed willingness to pass the family leadership to his eldest daughter, Vittoria, who was born in Geneva.

Regarding the royal remains, the Prince touched upon the possibility of transferring the remains of Umberto II and Maria José from the Hautecombe Abbey in France to Vicoforte, though he noted that the final decision rests with the President of the Republic.
