Nexon partners with Chernin Entertainment for game adaptations

Nexon has entered a partnership with Chernin Entertainment to develop film and television adaptations for two major video game titles: ‘ARC Raiders’ and ‘The Finals’. The agreement, reached following a competitive bidding process, aims to expand the intellectual properties of Embark Studios into integrated transmedia experiences.

Chernin Entertainment, a production label under The North Road Company known for projects like ‘The Backrooms’ and ‘Planet of the Apes’, will serve as the lead producer. While specific formats for each title have not been finalized, reports suggest ‘ARC Raiders’ may be developed as a television series due to its narrative depth, while ‘The Finals’ is being positioned for film adaptation.

Embark Studios' creative teams will collaborate closely with Chernin to ensure the visual identity and lore of the games are preserved in the new formats. ‘ARC Raiders’ has seen significant commercial success, selling over 16 million copies, while ‘The Finals’ has reached more than 30 million players since its 2023 launch.
