Embark Studios implements permanent bans for ARC Raiders cheaters
Embark Studios has implemented a stricter anti-cheat policy for ARC Raiders, moving to a standard of permanent bans for any account caught using known cheat programs. Executive producer Aleksander Grøndal stated that there will be “no warnings, no second chances” for violators.
To prevent cheating from spreading, the studio has expanded license restrictions, meaning a sanctioned copy of the game cannot be used on another account, and any account associated with a banned copy will also face a permanent ban. Embark is also utilizing hardware bans and developing in-house machine learning models alongside existing protections from Denuvo and Anybrain.
Additionally, the studio has addressed “queue teaming,” where players coordinate to enter solo lobbies to attack uncoordinated players. New matchmaking changes designed to separate these groups reportedly reduced queue-teaming incidents by 85% within five days, decreasing the frequency of spoiled raids from one in 50 to one in 300.
