Embark Studios pauses ARC Raiders Expeditions until 2027

Embark Studios has announced that the Expedition system in ARC Raiders will be paused following the fifth scheduled run, with no new Expeditions expected until early 2027. The developer stated that the decision follows extensive community feedback regarding several core issues, including tight departure windows, the reward structure, and accessibility for new players. Embark noted that these problems require “bigger changes” rather than incremental fixes.

The fifth Expedition is scheduled to run from September 8 to September 29, 2026. This specific window will feature several player-friendly adjustments, such as an extended three-week duration and an opt-in quest reset system, allowing players to choose whether to reset their quest progress. Rewards for this period include the Zenith Outfit, increased stash space, and additional skill points.

During the hiatus, existing consecutive buffs will remain active. Players with partially completed Caravans will receive Ermal Vouchers of equal value to ensure progress is not lost. The upcoming Frozen Trail update, set for October 8, will proceed without a concurrent Expedition window. The system is intended to return in early 2027 with a comprehensive overhaul to address long-standing player pain points.
