Embrace The Wind targets Rosehill Ranvet Handicap on firmer ground

Trainer John Thompson says the three‑year‑old gelding Embrace The Wind should perform better on a firmer track when he lines up for the Ranvet Handicap (1200 m) at Rosehill on Saturday. Despite drawing the outermost barrier, Thompson believes the draw will not affect the horse, noting, “He gets back, so the draw probably doesn’t matter as much for him.” Recent preparation includes a close finish behind Lighthouse Lass in June and a third‑place run behind Rolling Magic on heavy ground at the same venue.

Thompson also highlighted the spring campaign of filly Screen Icon, who will have another trial at Rosehill before contesting the Silver Shadow Stakes, the opening race of Sydney’s Princess Series. Screen Icon previously placed second in the Sweet Embrace Stakes and had a competitive run in the Percy Sykes Stakes.
