Embrapa develops free AI tool for Brangus cattle breeding
Embrapa has developed a free artificial intelligence tool designed to assist cattle ranchers in the selection of Brangus breeders. The system integrates a conversational interface into the Brangus+ genetic improvement program, which was established in 2023 in partnership with the Associação Brasileira de Brangus (ABB).
Users can interact with the tool to consult genetic evaluations and identify specific animals that meet certain production goals, such as increasing calf weight or enhancing herd resistance to ticks. The development was led by the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Genomic Statistics (Labegen) at Embrapa Pecuária Sul in Rio Grande do Sul.
