Embrujo wins 30th Benalmádena International Deep Sea Fishing Tournament

The 30th edition of the Benalmádena International Deep Sea Fishing Tournament concluded this weekend at the Benalmádena Marina. The vessel ‘Embrujo’, skippered by Bernardo Ortega, won the general classification for the highest total weight, recording 395 kilograms across 67 pieces over two days of competition.

In the largest single catch category, the vessel ‘Lajara Dos’, skippered by Jesús Bautista, took first place with a 12.1-kilogram wreckfish. The second position in this category went to ‘Aura Dos’, skippered by Lázaro Moreno, with an 11.4-kilogram wreckfish, while ‘Molinza’, skippered by José L. Molina, placed third with a 9.5-kilogram mahi-mahi.

The awards ceremony was held at the Hotel Alay and attended by local officials, including Port Councilor José Luis Bergillos and Sports Councilor Alejandro Carretero. Bergillos noted that reaching thirty editions highlights the deep-rooted importance of the competition within the municipality's nautical programming.
