Vita Vea requests trade from Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Vita Vea has requested a trade following stalled contract extension negotiations. While the Buccaneers have internally maintained they are not interested in trading the veteran, several teams have inquired about his availability.

According to NFL Network reports, the San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, and Chicago Bears are among the clubs that have checked in on Vea. The 49ers are reportedly a preferred destination for Vea, who has expressed interest in joining a California-based team or the Las Vegas Raiders.

Vea, a two-time Pro Bowler, is entering the final year of his contract and is set to earn approximately $18 million in 2026, a figure reportedly below his market value. He has participated in training camp but has not engaged in on-field work, leading to a hold-in as the contract dispute continues.
