EMELNORTE upgrades electrical networks in Imbabura and Carchi

EMELNORTE is conducting preventive maintenance and infrastructure upgrades on electrical networks in the Ecuadorian provinces of Imbabura and Carchi. The project, involving an investment of approximately USD 10,000 from the central government, aims to benefit roughly 3,420 users by improving service reliability and preventing system failures.

In Imbabura, technical teams are performing maintenance on the El Ambi–Alpachaca power line and the infrastructure supplying the El Ambi Central reservoir. Additionally, in the El Chanfle sector of Ibarra, work is underway to organize telecommunications cables mounted on electrical infrastructure to facilitate future maintenance and improve safety.

In Carchi, specifically in the San Miguel del Norte area of Tulcán, the company has renewed electrical conductors to strengthen the network's operational capacity. These interventions are part of a coordinated effort with the Ministry of Environment and Energy to ensure the continuity of the electrical service in the northern region.
