Emerald Downs announces field for 91st Longacres Mile
The field for the 91st Longacres Mile has been announced for the race scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 16, at Emerald Downs in Auburn. A total of eight horses will compete in the event.
Touchy, a 4-year-old bay colt, is the current 7/5 favorite and will start from gate No. 1. The horse is trained by Wesley Ward, a 2015 Washington Racing Hall of Fame inductee.
Other notable competitors include Si That Tiger, the second favorite, who has won seven of his first eight races. Slew’s Tiz Whiz, trained by Tom Wendell, is also a significant contender, marking its fifth consecutive appearance in the Longacres Mile after winning in 2022 and placing in 2023 and 2024.
