Emergency incidents reported across Gelderland and Friesland

Multiple emergency incidents were reported in the provinces of Gelderland and Friesland. In Gelderland, a driver managed to extinguish a car fire under the hood on Heidevenstraat in Nijmegen before firefighters arrived. In Doetinchem, an individual fell into the Oude IJssel and required resuscitation; the victim's condition remains unknown.

Other incidents in Gelderland included a fire that completely destroyed a sauna in Beek-Ubbergen and a shed fire in Ochten that required firefighters to remove part of a roof to reach the flames. Additionally, a minor from Winterswijk has died following a traffic accident in Enschede.

In Friesland, a collision involving two cars on the N359 near Wommels caused significant damage and temporary road closures. Separately, a 56-year-old man from Tytsjerksteradiel has died from injuries sustained after being struck by a car on the Rounwei in Warten on October 11. High water levels also led to the cancellation of several ferry services to the Wadden Islands, including Vlieland and Terschelling.
