El Carmen police station targeted by explosive drone attack

In El Carmen, Norte de Santander, an explosive drone attack targeted the local police station on Sunday night. The assault, which involved nine grenades and rifle fire, occurred as parishioners were leaving a church nearby, forcing many to seek refuge in temples and homes. Interior Minister Rodrigo Lara stated the attack is a response to government efforts to control fuel theft corridors used to finance drug trafficking in the Catatumbo region.

In other regional incidents, Colombian military forces in Chaparral conducted a coordinated raid on three homes, resulting in the arrest of four individuals allegedly involved in micro-trafficking. Authorities seized narcotics, weapons, and ammunition.

In Paraguay, a fatal shooting was reported in Capiatá, leaving one man dead and another injured. Additionally, in Coronel Bogado, the collapse of a construction structure at a commercial site resulted in minor injuries to three workers.
