Emergency incidents reported in Uruguay and Mexico

In Cabo Polonio, Uruguay, a passenger truck operated by the company ‘El Francés’ caught fire while traveling on access roads. The vehicle was carrying approximately ten passengers at the time. The driver managed to stop the vehicle and evacuate all passengers safely before the truck was consumed by flames. While no injuries were reported, the company suffered significant material losses. In Mexico, heavy rainfall in the Colón and Rosario Castellanos areas caused water levels to rise by 1.5 meters, trapping twenty people inside an urban truck. Six children were rescued from the scene. The storm also affected 38 vehicles and caused temporary suspensions of light rail lines 1 and 4. The incident has sparked debate regarding urban drainage, land use, and the management of metropolitan water systems.
