Emergency measures extended in Dosquebradas and Chile

Authorities in Dosquebradas have extended a curfew and a car-free day until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, August 17. These exceptional mobility and security measures are intended to facilitate the movement of ambulances, rescue organizations, heavy machinery, and emergency response teams following an earthquake. The restrictions aim to keep roads clear for debris removal, structural evaluations, and humanitarian aid efforts in affected sectors.

In Chile, a temporary opening of Route 1 between Tocopilla and Aduana was implemented on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This exceptional window, managed by the Ministry of Public Works and the Provincial Presidential Delegation of Tocopilla, is designed to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to coastal coves and allow residents to travel for essential supplies. The route remains restricted for travel toward Tarapacá due to ongoing connectivity issues.
