Emergency rescues reported in Policastro Bussentino and Marina di Camerota
Two separate rescue operations were carried out in the Campania region of Italy, preventing potential tragedies in Policastro Bussentino and Marina di Camerota.
In Policastro Bussentino, firefighters responded to an incident where a small poodle fell several meters into a well near a camper parking area. Using specialized Speleo Alpino Fluviale (SAF) maneuvers, rescuers descended into the shaft using steel ropes and pulleys. The dog was successfully retrieved and reported to be in good condition without serious injuries.
In Marina di Camerota, at Capogrosso beach, a woman was swept approximately 15 meters offshore by a strong rip current. Adelio Lanzalotti, an auxiliary Carabiniere and president of a local volunteer group, intervened by diving into the water. He utilized parallel swimming techniques to navigate the current and safely brought the woman back to the shoreline.
