Emergency responders carry out rescues in Cusio and Cuvignone

Two separate emergency incidents were reported in Italy involving rescue operations.

In Cusio, Carabinieri from Verbania prevented a 39-year-old man from jumping off a bridge. After being alerted by passersby, officers approached the man cautiously and managed to pull him to safety. The individual, who cited personal problems, was left in the care of medical personnel.

In the Cuvignone Pass area near Vararo, a 48-year-old paraglider was injured after losing control of his wing and crashing into a wooded area. Rescue teams, including the Speleo Alpino Fluviale of the Varese Firefighters and Alpine Rescue, had to carry the pilot by hand through difficult terrain to reach a landing site for a helicopter. The man was transported to Varese Hospital in yellow code condition with moderate injuries.
