Emergency responders complete rescues in Argentina and Spain
Emergency services conducted two separate rescue operations in Argentina and Spain.
In the Puna region of Argentina, police and SAME medical personnel walked 18 kilometers through difficult, steep terrain in Barrancas to reach a 75-year-old woman. The woman was experiencing symptoms of a stroke. After being stabilized and immobilized on a first aid board, she was transported for further medical care.
In Allande, Spain, firefighters from the Asturias Emergency Service (SEPA) rescued a 73-year-old man who became trapped in a wine vat in Carcedo de Lomes. The man alerted authorities that he was drowning due to gases and grape residue. Rescuers had to tilt the vat horizontally to extract him. He was taken to the Hospital Carmen y Severo Ochoa without serious injuries.
