Emergency responders undergo specialized safety and vehicle training

Emergency response and rescue personnel in Silao and Iglesia are undergoing specialized training to improve safety and preparedness in their respective regions.

In Silao, municipal departments including Civil Protection, Firefighters, and the Water and Sewage System (SAPAS) received training from ENGIE regarding natural gas incident prevention. The sessions focused on the physical properties of natural gas and LP gas, as well as safety protocols during excavation work. Experts noted that 90 to 95 percent of distribution network emergencies are caused by third-party damage during excavation. Recommended precautions include using warning tape above underground pipes and utilizing clean sand for backfilling to protect duct coatings.

In the Iglesia department, the company American Advisor conducted training on the use and characteristics of 4x4 vehicles. The program included drivers from the 22nd Police Station, Gendarmerie, Civil Defense, and national park rangers. The training aimed to prepare personnel for navigating difficult terrain and managing emergencies in complex sectors where weather and ground conditions can hinder access.
