Emergency response measures implemented in Huércal and La Araucanía

Local authorities in Huércal, Spain, are implementing urgent measures to improve emergency response times for fires and other incidents. The municipality is coordinating with the Provincial Council to deploy temporary personnel and vehicles to act as a rapid response unit. This interim strategy will remain in place until a new fire station is completed. The city council has approved a tender for the new facility, which has a base budget of 2.5 million euros and will be located in the Venta Alegre industrial estate.

In La Araucanía, Chile, regional authorities have convened a preventive COGRID meeting to strengthen coordination and response capabilities ahead of the summer wildfire season. Led by regional presidential delegate Francisco Ljubetic and SENAPRED director Ian Gorayeb, the meeting focused on anticipating risk scenarios and reviewing operational resources. Officials emphasized the necessity of integrated work between public and private sectors to ensure effective disaster prevention and management.
