Emergency responses activated in Honduras and Mexico amid storm and flood risks
Authorities in Honduras and Mexico are implementing emergency measures due to severe weather risks. In Tegucigalpa, a yellow alert is in effect as saturated soils increase the danger of landslides and flooding. The Municipal District Central (AMDC) and the Municipal Risk Management System (SIMGER) are coordinating response efforts and monitoring vulnerable sectors to ensure timely intervention.
In Colima, Mexico, officials have closed beaches in Tecomán, Armería, and Manzanillo due to the approaching tropical storm ‘Simón’. The State Civil Protection Unit (UEPC) is monitoring the storm, which was located approximately 400 kilometers from Manzanillo, as it potentially increases in intensity. Authorities have advised residents and tourists to avoid beaches, rivers, and lagoons due to dangerous swells and currents.
