Emergency services conduct large-scale rescue drills in Poland
Emergency response teams in Poland are conducting major training exercises to prepare for industrial accidents and chemical threats.
In Lublin, the DECON 2 maneuvers involve 217 participants, including medical rescue teams and students. The exercise simulates a chemical attack at a former industrial site, focusing on decontamination procedures, medical triage, and managing a mass influx of casualties.
In Czechowice-Dziedzice, the UNIMOT 2026 exercise involved over thirty State Fire Service units at the UNIMOT Terminale. The drill simulated a diesel fuel leak and subsequent fire in storage tanks. Firefighters practiced using extinguishing foam, securing adjacent tanks, and coordinating large-scale rescue and firefighting operations alongside police, medical services, and environmental inspectors.
