Emergency services respond to fatal fall and sea rescue in Italy

In Sant’Agata de’ Goti, a 32-year-old woman died after falling from a bridge on Viale Vittorio Emanuele III. Emergency responders, including the Carabinieri, municipal police, firefighters, and Civil Protection volunteers, conducted a recovery operation that lasted over three hours. The efforts were complicated by heavy rain, strong winds, and dense vegetation. A helicopter request from Pontecagnano was limited by the severe weather conditions.

In a separate incident in Riposto, local police rescued a 24-year-old woman from the sea. Following a report from the Carabinieri regarding a missing woman in a fragile mental state, police searched the coastline and located her near Viale Amendola. The local police commander successfully used dialogue to convince the woman to return to shore. She was subsequently taken to the hospital in Giarre for medical care.
