Emergency services respond to fires and collisions in Poland
Emergency services in Poland responded to several incidents involving fires and traffic accidents over the weekend.
In the Racibórz region, firefighters addressed five separate calls. These included clearing a fallen tree branch from a bike path in Chałupki, extinguishing a stubble fire in Bieńkowice—suspected to be arson—and responding to a false alarm. A collision between a Chevrolet Cruze and a Romet motorcycle in Racibórz resulted in no injuries, though the driver was fined. Additionally, crews removed a hornet's nest in Zabełków.
In Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, a series of dangerous road incidents occurred. A vehicle caught fire on Zagłoby Street, likely due to a fuel system failure. On Mickiewicza Street, a collision between a Renault and a Yamaha motorcycle left a 19-year-old rider hospitalized with serious injuries after a driver failed to yield the right of way. A separate three-car pileup on Jana Pawła II Avenue involving a Fiat, Mercedes, and Audi occurred when a driver failed to adjust speed to road conditions; no injuries were reported in that instance.
