Emergency services respond to gas-related incidents in Mexico

Two separate incidents involving gas risks occurred in Mexico. In Lerdo, a driver lost control of a Ford F-150 pickup truck while speeding, striking a parked GMC vehicle before crashing into a residence in the San Isidro neighborhood. The impact created a large hole in a wall and damaged gas tanks, causing a fuel leak. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene before authorities arrived. Emergency responders, including firefighters and civil protection, contained the leak, and no serious injuries were reported.

In Reynosa, a gas delivery truck from Gas San Diego caught fire in the Villa Florida subdivision, reportedly due to a short circuit in the engine. The fire prompted the evacuation of over 100 secondary school students and children from a nearby daycare center. While workers managed to partially control the flames with an onboard extinguisher, emergency personnel, including the Mexican Army and state guard, secured the area to prevent further risks. The truck sustained significant damage.
