Emergency services respond to multiple fires in Punta Cana and Nuevo Nayarit

Multiple fire emergencies were reported in tourist regions on Tuesday. In the Verón-Punta Cana district, the local fire department responded to six separate incidents, including five fires involving trash and green areas. Notable incidents occurred near a hotel in Macao, with two separate green area fires reported in the early morning and late morning. Other fires were controlled in Los Ranchitos, near Casita Linda, and in the Plaza Italia area. Additionally, firefighters responded to a situation in Las Caobas where a person was trapped in an elevator, though the individual managed to exit independently before firefighters arrived.

In Mexico, a fire broke out at the Villa Varadero hotel within the Nuevo Nayarit nautical residential development. Emergency responders from Bahía de Banderas and Civil Protection mobilized to control the blaze. Three individuals were treated on-site for smoke inhalation; they were reported as stable and did not require hospital transfer. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the hotel fire and assessing material damage.
