Emergency services respond to separate fires in Leimersheim and Sievershausen
Two separate fire incidents occurred in Germany in late September 2026, requiring significant emergency response efforts.
In the Leimersheim region, a fire started on a private property when an individual attempted to burn a log. The flames spread to a nearby ten-meter-high dead tree, which caught fire completely. Firefighters responded by felling the burning tree and extinguishing the flames, preventing further spread. No injuries were reported, and the Germersheim police have launched an investigation.
In Sievershausen, a fire broke out in a garden shed on a Thursday evening, threatening nearby garages and a residential house. Approximately 90 emergency responders were deployed. The intensity of the fire and the risk of structural collapse forced firefighters to fight the blaze from the outside using foam and aerial ladders. One person was injured during the incident.
