Emergency services respond to various incidents in Groningen province

Multiple emergency incidents were reported across the province, including fires, traffic accidents, and a police investigation into a death.

In Bontebok, firefighters used a specialized natural fire fighting vehicle to bring a forest fire on Imke Klaverpad under control. In Stadskanaal, a fire broke out in a bicycle storage area near a flat on Lyceumlaan; emergency services controlled the blaze quickly, and no injuries were reported.

Several vehicle accidents occurred, including a collision in Oosterzee that resulted in one car ending up in a ditch, and a serious head-on collision between two vehicles on the N370 in Groningen that left a driver injured. In Noordwolde, a motorcyclist was hospitalized after hitting a curb.

Regarding police matters, authorities investigated a person found deceased in a car at Prins Hendrikplein in Veendam; while the identity has been established, officials noted that an investigation into the cause of death is ongoing. Additionally, police are investigating a suspected case of arson involving a car in the Oosterhoogebrug district of Groningen.
