EMERGENCY to open new clinic at Spallanzani Institute in Rome

EMERGENCY and the Spallanzani National Institute for Infectious Diseases in Rome have signed a memorandum of understanding to open a new proximity medicine clinic. Located within the Spallanzani Institute, the clinic aims to provide healthcare to vulnerable populations, specifically those facing linguistic, administrative, or social barriers.

The facility will operate Monday through Friday, staffed by a team of doctors, nurses, and cultural mediators. It will offer general medicine, nursing assistance, health education, and guidance toward local socio-sanitary services. The partnership is designed to create integrated care pathways, allowing EMERGENCY to refer patients with suspected infectious diseases to the Institute's specialist structures, while the Spallanzani can direct patients with complex social or administrative needs to the clinic.
