Emergency Vehicle Collisions Injure Multiple in Munich and Hamburg

On August 3, two separate incidents in Munich involving emergency vehicles resulted in injuries. In the early‑morning crash at Ramersdorf‑Perlach, a motorcyclist failed to see a rescue ambulance with lights and fell, sustaining serious injuries. Later that morning in Trudering‑Riem, a 31‑year‑old driver attempting an illegal U‑turn collided his BMW with a police car, lightly injuring himself and three police officers.

On Sunday evening in Hamburg’s Billbrook district, a rescue ambulance travelling with emergency rights ran a red light and struck a grey passenger car at the intersection of Billhorner Brückenstraße, Heidenkampsweg and Billstraße. The ambulance crew was taken to hospital with non‑serious injuries, while the car driver suffered minor abrasions. Both accidents are being investigated by local police.
