Emerson expands RF test capabilities for MIMO and multiport applications

Emerson has announced expanded radio frequency (RF) test capabilities for its NI PXI platform, specifically targeting complex multiport and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) device architectures. The update includes the introduction of the NI PXIe-5633, a four-port vector network analyzer (VNA) designed to capture multiport S-parameters on advanced devices.

In addition to the new hardware, software enhancements for the NI PXIe-5860 vector signal transceiver (VST) have been released to improve synchronization for multichannel and timing-sensitive applications. These updates allow engineers to consolidate S-parameter characterization and modulated RF measurements within a single PXI system, reducing the need for multiple instruments and simplifying automation workflows from design validation through production.

The new capabilities are intended for use in semiconductor validation, advanced wireless research, and aerospace and defense systems, particularly those utilizing software-defined and multi-antenna architectures.
