Emerson launches TESCOM RC‑X valve to cut offshore chemical dosing costs

Emerson announced the TESCOM RC‑X motorized injection rate control valve, aimed at offshore chemical dosing for refineries. The valve provides accurate, repeatable injection, reducing chemical waste, downtime and the need for frequent replenishment trips. It is designed to work with Micro Motion™ Coriolis flow meters and uses electric actuation, eliminating the need for compressed air.

The short‑stroke design (under 1/8 inch) handles pressures up to 15,000 psi and flow rates from 0.02 to 500 L/h, with 4–20 mA control. The modular unit is lightweight, compact, explosion‑proof, IP67 rated and compliant with NACE MR0175, offering fewer moving parts and lower maintenance risk. Julia Villa, product marketing manager for Emerson’s fluid and motion control business, said proper dosing in deep‑water, high‑pressure/high‑temperature environments can prevent blockages, protect asset integrity and stimulate production.
