Emerson Palmieri reaffirms commitment to Olympique de Marseille

Emerson Palmieri has addressed his future at Olympique de Marseille following an unsuccessful transfer attempt to Santos FC this summer. The 32-year-old left-back, who began his career at Santos, used Instagram to clarify his position after intense speculation regarding a return to Brazil.

In his message, Emerson expressed gratitude to the Santos supporters, stating, “These last few days have been intense for me, and I could not not thank the Santos supporters for all the affection I have received.” He noted that Santos will always be part of his history. However, he emphasized his commitment to his current club, asserting, “Today, it is this jersey that I defend and I remain 100% committed, focused on our objectives.”

While the player's public acknowledgment of his former club has caused some friction and criticism among Marseille supporters, he maintains that he is fully dedicated to the project under manager Bruno Genesio for his second season with the club.
