Rodinei signs with Santos FC through 2027
Santos FC has officially announced the signing of 34-year-old right-back Rodinei. The player joins the Brazilian club from Olympiacos, following a contract rescission with the Greek side that allowed him to transfer without a fee. Rodinei has signed a contract that runs until December 2027.
Requested by coach Cuca to bolster the defense, Rodinei arrives with significant international experience, including titles with Flamengo and a recent Conference League win with Olympiacos. He will compete for playing time with Igor Vinícius, especially as Gabriel Menino is currently sidelined with an injury.
In related transfer news, Santos' attempt to sign left-back Emerson Palmieri from Olympique de Marseille has failed. The French club refused to release the player without financial compensation, a condition Santos was unable to meet due to its current financial strategy of prioritizing free transfers.
