Energy project in Argentina wins award as Algoma Steel announces earnings date

The “Aprender con Energías Sostenibles” project in Mendoza, Argentina, has received a special distinction from the 2026 OLACDE Energy Excellence Awards. The initiative, led by Empresa Mendocina de Energía (Emesa) in collaboration with various educational institutions and energy companies, was recognized for its contribution to sustainable energy development in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The award was announced during the XI Energy Week, which featured 155 submissions from 21 countries. The project highlights the intersection of education and environmental commitment by promoting a culture of sustainable energy.

Separately, Canadian steel producer Algoma Steel Group Inc. has announced that it will release its third-quarter 2026 financial results on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, after the market closes. A webcast and conference call to discuss the results are scheduled for October 29, 2026.
