Emil Boc warns Cluj-Napoca school directors against soliciting parent funds

Cluj-Napoca Mayor Emil Boc has issued a stern warning to school directors regarding unauthorized requests for funds from parents. He stated that it is ‘absolutely unacceptable’ for school administrators to ask parents to pay for hygiene products, detergents, or classroom renovations.

Boc emphasized that the local administration is responsible for covering these costs and has the necessary resources to equip schools, nurseries, and kindergartens to civilized standards. He threatened to publicly shame any director who continues to solicit money from class funds for such purposes and urged parents to report any such incidents to the City Hall or relevant authorities.
