Emil Dardak named top graduate in ITB Professional Engineer Program

East Java Deputy Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak has been named the best graduate in the regular track of the Professional Engineer Program at the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). He received the award for the Regional and Urban Planning sub-program during the October 2026 professional education inauguration ceremony held at Sasana Budaya Ganesa in Bandung.

During the ceremony, Dardak delivered a speech titled “From the Excellence of Science to Professional Responsibility.” He emphasized the critical role of scientific-based regional planning in addressing development challenges, such as connectivity, economic growth distribution, and environmental impact. He noted that effective regional development requires integration between infrastructure planning and local economic potential to ensure growth is not concentrated in single areas.

Dardak was among 866 graduates inaugurated during the period, which included professionals in engineering, pharmacy, and architecture.
