Emil Frey Racing and Garage 59 secure wins at Zandvoort GTWC

The GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup weekend at Zandvoort concluded with breakthrough victories for both Garage 59 and Emil Frey Racing. In Race 1, the Garage 59 McLaren, driven by Tom Fleming and Louis Prette, secured the team’s first win of the 2026 season and became the first Gold Cup runner to claim an overall Sprint Cup victory.

Race 2 saw Emil Frey Racing dominate with their Ferrari 296 GT3. After Konsta Lappalainen secured pole position, Ben Green took the lead following a restart. The duo of Ben Green and Thierry Vermeulen ultimately took the win, with Vermeulen becoming the first Dutch driver to win overall at his home circuit since 2014. The podium was completed by the Lionspeed GP Porsche of Bastian Buus and Ricardo Feller, who moved to the top of the Sprint Cup championship standings.

The weekend drew a significant crowd of approximately 26,000 spectators to the seaside circuit. The results have set up a highly competitive season finale at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where eight different crews will contend for the series title.
