Emil Madsen sidelined for six weeks with muscle injury
THW Kiel player Emil Madsen has sustained a muscle tear in the adductor area, which is expected to sideline the Danish handball star for approximately six weeks. The injury occurred during a recent 31-31 draw against SG Flensburg-Handewitt.
This setback comes shortly after Madsen's return to the court following a nearly year-long absence due to a knee operation. Despite the injury, Madsen showed strong form during his brief appearance in the North Derby, scoring five goals in just 14 minutes of play.
Club physician Dr. Philip Lübke noted that the six-week recovery estimate assumes a positive healing process. The injury is a significant blow to Kiel as they prepare for an upcoming high-profile match against SC Magdeburg.
