Emilia Jones to star in Netflix series ‘The Retrievals’

Actress Emilia Jones has been cast in the lead role of the upcoming Netflix limited series ‘The Retrievals’. The production is based on the New York Times and Serial Productions podcast of the same name.

Jones will portray Gabby Clemente, a New Haven bartender and student teacher whose life is disrupted by traumatic egg retrieval surgery. The story follows Clemente as she organizes a community of IVF patients to pursue a legal battle against Yale University after discovering a nurse at the clinic had been stealing fentanyl, resulting in patients being operated on without anesthesia.

Molly Smith Metzler serves as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner. The series is executive produced by a team including Margot Robbie via LuckyChap, Colin McKenna, Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley, Caitlin Roper, and podcast host Susan Burton. Lila Neugebauer is set to direct the pilot episode.
