Emilia-Romagna allocates €187 k to restore San Giovannino frescoes and women's Resistance monument
The Emilia‑Romagna regional government approved three restoration contracts worth a total of €187,000. The largest share, €122,000, will fund the conservation of the 16th‑17th‑century fresco cycle in the San Giovannino Church in Reggio Emilia (€90,000 in 2026 and €32,000 in 2027). The project is supported by a €200,000 investment from the Venerable Confraternity of the Immaculate Conception and San Francesco d’Assisi.
Additional funds include €30,000 for the restoration of the Guercino altarpiece in the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Schiavonia, Forlì, and €35,000 for the monument honoring the women of the Resistance in Castelnovo ne’ Monti. The restorations will feature guided school visits and public open‑site days once completed, aiming to improve accessibility and preserve local cultural identity.
