Emilia-Romagna allocates millions for agricultural aid and weather monitoring

Emilia-Romagna has launched a 22.4 million euro aid package to support the agricultural sector against rising energy and fertilizer costs driven by Middle East instability. The plan includes 19.6 million euros from EU and national funds to assist crops like cereals, maize, and forage, alongside 2.8 million euros from regional Feasr funds to support fruit, vegetable, and wine producers.

Additionally, the regional government has allocated 2.3 million euros to enhance the Rirer hydrological and meteorological monitoring network. Managed by Arpae, this infrastructure is vital for weather alerts and civil protection emergency management.

In broader economic news, at the One Water Forum in Rome, Acea Chief Transformation Officer Marco Pastorello highlighted a massive global investment gap in water infrastructure. A study conducted with the World Economic Forum suggests that addressing the 6.5 trillion euro investment gap could generate significant GDP growth and millions of jobs across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
