Emilia-Romagna launches General Assembly of Fishing and Aquaculture

The Emilia-Romagna region has launched the first edition of the General Assembly of Fishing and Aquaculture. The initiative aims to develop a comprehensive strategy for the sector by engaging stakeholders across the entire supply chain, including fishers, farmers, markets, and research institutions.

Key objectives include supporting businesses, fostering innovation, managing generational turnover, and addressing rapid environmental and economic shifts. The program seeks to establish a dialogue that connects regional interests with national authorities in Rome and European institutions in Brussels, particularly regarding post-2027 European programming.

The assembly will consist of three scheduled meetings along the coast: a session in Goro on September 25 focused on aquaculture, climate change, and invasive species; a meeting in Cesenatico on October 9 regarding regional fishing strategies; and a concluding event in Rimini on November 27 to discuss the role of community contributions and future programming.
