Emilia-Romagna launches “Mobilità Sicura” road safety project
The “Mobilità Sicura” (Safe Mobility) experimental project has launched across the Emilia-Romagna region, following directives from the Italian Ministry of the Interior. The initiative aims to implement a new integrated and coordinated model for road traffic control.
In the province of Reggio Emilia, the project was developed through the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security and a technical table involving various law enforcement agencies. The operation includes the State Police, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, Local Police, and Provincial Police. The Reggio Emilia Road Police Section serves as the technical-operational coordination point.
The deployment strategy consists of three main methods: individual services by patrols on identified arteries, shared services involving multiple patrols across different municipal directions, and joint inter-force services involving simultaneous operations by different agencies to combat dangerous driving behaviors.
