Emilia-Romagna leads Italy in agri-food exports
The agri-food system in Emilia-Romagna demonstrated strong economic performance in 2025, according to the 2025 Agri-food Report released by the region in collaboration with Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna.
Agricultural production value rose by 4.5% to 6.36 billion euros, driven largely by a 16.8% increase in livestock production, which reached 3.6 billion euros. Agri-food exports also saw significant growth, rising 9.7% to exceed 11.5 billion euros. This performance establishes Emilia-Romagna as Italy's leading region for agri-food exports, accounting for 16.3% of the national total, ahead of Lombardy and Piedmont.
Recent data for the first half of 2026 indicates continued stability, with exports reaching 5.8 billion euros, a 0.5% increase over the same period in 2025. Regional Agriculture Councilor Alessio Mammi noted that the growth reflects the ability of local businesses to innovate and compete despite market instability and climate change.
