Emilia-Romagna Region and local municipalities approve urban security projects
The Emilia-Romagna Region has signed program agreements with the municipalities of Ravenna and Cervia to enhance urban security and livability through integrated prevention strategies.
In Ravenna, an investment of 307,500 euros will fund infrastructure improvements and social mediation. Key actions include renovating an underpass to ensure accessibility for the visually impaired, installing advanced LED lighting, and placing surveillance cameras in elevators. The project also focuses on social mediation and cultural initiatives to support marginalized individuals near the bus station area.
In Cervia, specifically targeting the Pinarella area following the murder of Nicola Musiani, a 150,000 euro project titled ‘SicuriCervia Tritone’ has been launched. This initiative includes the redevelopment of Parco delle Dune, enhanced video surveillance in the Tritone area, and improved street lighting. To address social risks, the plan introduces street tutors to engage with youth in nightlife areas, provide alcohol and substance abuse prevention, and manage conflict de-escalation.
