Emilia-Romagna seeks restoration of funds for national Resistance sites

Emilia-Romagna has urged Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli and the national government to reinstate 20% of the funding cut from sites dedicated to the Resistance. Five sites have national recognition, with three located in the region, serving as places of memory, research, education and ongoing commitment to liberty and social justice.

Vasco Errani, president of the Istituto Cervi, criticized the government’s cuts to the five nationally recognized sites, stating that memory is a fundamental element of Italy’s identity and should not be neglected. The sites include Casa Cervi, Marzabotto, Fossoli, and other memorials.
