Emilia-Romagna welcomes 36 children from Kharkiv, Ukraine

Thirty-six children from the Kharkiv region of Ukraine have arrived in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, to participate in a humanitarian hospitality project. The children, some of whom have lost relatives or have family members actively involved in the conflict, are staying in the Italian Riviera for a period of recreation and support.

Funded by the Emilia-Romagna region with nearly 50,000 euros, the initiative is organized by the Fondazione Aiutiamoli a vivere – Comitato regionale Emilia-Romagna. The program includes sports, recreational activities, visits to theme parks, and trips to locations such as Bologna, Rimini, San Marino, and the Cattolica Aquarium. To ensure their well-being, the region is covering the costs for their enrollment in the national health service and pediatric visits.

This project is the third edition of a collaboration established in May 2023 between the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Kharkiv Regional Council. The delegation was officially received in Bologna by Regional President Michele de Pascale and the Ukrainian Ambassador to Italy, Ihor Brusylo.
