Emiliano Estrada faces inquiry for alleged fake news production
Federal prosecutor Guillermo Marijuan has requested an inquiry into former national deputy Emiliano Estrada for the crime of embezzlement of work and services. The investigation alleges that Estrada used public resources for personal benefit by ordering the creation of TikTok accounts to spread fake news targeting political rivals in Salta.
Two of Estrada’s employees, Florencia Bustamante and Alonso Allemand, previously received suspended prison sentences for public intimidation. During their proceedings, they admitted to managing social media accounts such as ‘La Casta Salteña’ and ‘Informante Salta’ under Estrada’s direct orders to damage the reputations of specific media, business, and political figures, including Governor Gustavo Sáenz.
