Emiliano García-Page calls for stronger European self-esteem in Toledo
During the 10th meeting of the Committee of the Regions' Natural Resources (NAT) Commission in Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha President Emiliano García-Page called for the European Union to strengthen its ‘collective self-esteem.’ He described the European project as a symbol of hope and urged the Union to face its challenges with greater self-confidence.
The meeting also addressed the future of rural areas. Discussions included the ‘Right of Stay: Europe for Rural Areas,’ focusing on the ability of citizens to remain in their birthplaces and develop lives there. Pablo Bellido, President of the regional Cortes, noted that for the first time in seven decades, the rural population in Castilla-La Mancha is growing rather than declining, a trend he attributed to regional policies.
